December 28, 1942 - February 17, 2021
Nancy was born in Salem, Oregon. The second daughter to Richard Everett and Helen (Stewart) Poet (both deceased).
Nancy is survived by her children Tami (Dan) Dyble, Danny (D'Arcy) Hodson and Jill (Bob) Hull. Siblings Yvonne (Alan) Hauan, Don (Arlene) Poet and Jane Poet. In-laws Carol (Art) Stewart, Rhoda Hodson and Sandie-Jean MacLaurin. 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Nancy spent her summers in and around Nimpo Lake and the Kleena Kleene valley as a young teenager and moved to BC permanently when she married Darryl Hodson in October of 1963. They spent the first few winters in Ocean Falls and summers on the Dean River until they bought their property in upper Firvale.
Together they built up their fishing lodge on the Dean River and ran it as a family business until Darryl's death in September 1991.
Nancy was a very warm and friendly lady who loved her family and friends deeply, she enjoyed nothing more than to be with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and share adventures with them. She enjoyed knitting and made many beautiful buffalo wool sweaters, vest and toques for her family.
Nancy's faith was the most vital part of who she was as a person and she shared openly with everyone. She is very missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her, but she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love we hope to honour by reflecting it in our lives as she did.
