We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Barry Richard Kosmonek. He passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital.
Barry's journey through life began in Vancouver where his parents, Mary and Albert had met after World War II. From there they went to Anaheim Lake and The Precipice, eventually moving to the Bella Coola Valley as his dad found work as a carpenter.
Barry grew up in the valley, married and had children before returning to the lower mainland.
Barry loved vehicles and his jobs involved delivering freight, owning a gravel truck and driving taxi.
He was a generous person and will be remembered for the kindness and genuine respect he felt for everyone.
Barry is survived by his daughters, Mary Lackey and Christin Kosmonek; his grandchildren, Nicole Kosmonek, Tyler Lackey, Amy Lackey and Riley Kosmonek.
He is also missed by his sisters Marilyn Earl (Ron) and Jan Stockford (Rob) and his niece and nephew, Alanna and Blake Stockford. Barry's son-in-law and long time room mate and friend, Don Lackey also mourns his passing.
