Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and caregiving mother to many Day Care children.
Barbara was born in Rochester Pennsylvania to Clarence and Beatrice Hall. A coal miner's daughter. Moving from there to Tucson Arizona she spent many happy times with family and friends enjoying the Western lifestyle.
She always referred to Arizona as home and the Moreland's and Hoffman's were always her "second family" and she enjoyed her many visits back.
Church functions, music and social gatherings and helping her mother tending to seven brothers and sisters was the norm and routing out rattler's under the bed while living in a tent was all taken in stride.
Moving on again to Caldwell Idaho where Barb would finish her High School years, or so she thought. Her father Clarence, forever the hunter outdoorsman, stonemason, looking for a better self sufficient lifestyle moved the family to Bella Coola, British Columbia.
Here Barbara found out she had to repeat grade twelve to graduate in Canada and had to take correspondence courses. This she accomplished with aplomb while still helping at home raising two younger sisters.
At her Sir Alexander Mackenzie Graduation Ceremony she was given special recognition for her top grades and received a Scholarship to Boise Bible Collage in Idaho. This she turned down and married Peter and happily started a carrier as homemaker and parent to Annette and Clinton.
Helping to build a home, raise children and growing and harvesting a large garden was all done with enthusiasm and pride.
Mid term in this domestic life and after the children had left school, Barbara took on various jobs. Secretarial work for book keeper, Credit Union clerk, Secretary at both Bella Coola Elementary and Sir Alexander Mackenzie Schools and lastly, secretary at Probation and Family Court office.
Volunteer secretary for the Bella Coola Pentecostal Church and arranging church dinners was a favorite. Who can forget Clarence's home raised Turkey Christmas dinners.
Woven among all of this was her love of knitting and quilt making, displayed the annual Crafts Fair. Knitted slippers were a trademark and she could whip out a pair in a couple of evenings while watching "Gunsmoke."
Home once more and figuring she didn't have enough to do and with her love of little children she started Mid Vale Day Care and immersed herself in this activity, at the same time still putting up vegetables from the garden and even preserving her parents garden produce.
Barbara cared for her father in his later years and the day care service moving to Clarence's home was a special treat for him and the children. Trips to the chicken house for eggs, picking berries, and playing with "Molly" was always an adventure for the children.
Barbara dearest, Happy Birthday. We know what kind of cake you're having up there. You are truly missed and will be loved by us always.
