Freezing rain is forecast for the South Cariboo and Thompson Nicola regions tonight (Nov. 1) and leading into Thursday morning.

Affected areas include 100 Mile House, Nicola Similkameen, the South Thompson, the Okanagan Connector and the Coquihalla Highway north of the summit to Kamloops.

A warm front moving into the BC Interior tonight will cause warm air to rise over the existing cold air and freezing rain will develop, especially at higher elevations and highway passes. The freezing rain will turn to rain as the cold air erodes Thursday morning.

Be prepared for slippery and icy surfaces and possible power outages due to ice buildup. Surfaces such as roads, sidewalks and parking lots may become icy resulting in transportation delays.

Be prepared to allow extra time for travel and exercise caution when driving. Visit DriveBC for up-to-date road conditions.
