Thanks for coming out for another awesome and epic ski distance challenge event.

March 3rd showed up a little chilly but with a shining blue sky to compensate.

We had a grand turnout of 45 skiers who put in a total distance of 678 kilometers. A remarkable new club record.

Alex Boileau came out of the gates blazing and set the biggest distance skied with a whopping 67 kilometers and an ice beard to attest to the frozen miles on the trail.

Big numbers kept piling in throughout the day, Ivy Strothers skied 50km, Meghan Lewick 45, Grant McCartney 43, Jeff Raymond (after he and Katja drove all the way from Likely) skied an awesome 40 kilometers.

Morgan Boileau skied the most distance in the under 18 age group with 18 magnificent kilometers followed right behind by Eric Boileau with a very impressive 16.

Ryan Boileau in the Under 10 age category skied a glorious nine, followed by River and Skye Brandt with an awesome seven kilometers each.

Rick and Donna Ratcliff put in a fantastic 19 kilometers each, to take home the prizes in the 60+ age group.

Ivy, Grant and Alex skied all the trails, linking the Old Highway, Pederson, Meadow Loops, Karls Loop and Jackrabbit to complete the epic Tour de Tweedsmuir.

Some beautiful prizes were on hand: Great Bear Heli Skiing sent in a luxurious pair of ski gloves,

Bella Coola Heli Sports shared glorious ski socks and base layers; there was a super spiffy Helly Hansen down jacket, chocolate, toques and TSC Club Swag!

A huge thank you to everyone that came out and skied. Last year our fundraising efforts got us a new grooming shed, and this year thanks to so many donations, and our solid day of skiing we are hoping to raise enough money for a new grooming sled to put in our new grooming shed!

Huge appreciation to our sponsors for this event:

And to our indefatigable groomers: Roger Brandt, Alex Boileau, Grant McCartney, David Flegel, John Arnold and Ralph Nelson and a huge thank you to the organizers, and recorders of distance: Kerry Boileau, Meghan Lewick, Erin Nevison and Ryan Levesque.

Thanks to everyone.

Keep the sliding side down.
