The BC School sports fall season of play begins at the beginning of the school year and runs through until the start of November.
This year SAMS school fielded a (coed) senior boys soccer team as well as a cross-country running team.
Both teams had an excellent season, with the soccer team travelling out to participate in the provincial qualifying zone tournament in Prince George, where they placed fourth out of six teams and earned the most sportsmanship team award.
The cross-country running team, which is made up primarily of members of the soccer team, ran extremely strong at their races as well, with 11 athletes, qualifying and participating in the provincial championships which were hosted in Surrey during the first week of November.
The junior boys team came second at zones and 28th out of 102 at provincials. The junior girls team came third at zones and the senior boys were second at zones and 11th at provincials.
Many athletes set personal and school bests, Ryder Provost won a bronze medal at provincials in the para-AWD category 2km.
The Co-ed senior boys soccer team was led by coach Alex Boileau, assistant coach Leif Nestegaard, team manager Natasha Provost and bus driver extraordinaire Leonard Kozak
Member of the team were: Eric Boileau, Ben Dishkin, Mathias Conley, Noah Degrade, William McCartney, Cierra Rurka, Meadow Michalchuk, Shayda Beloin, Ryder Provost, Morgan Boileau, Declan Ratcliff, Danny Legault, Isla Hodgson, Manny White, Ewan Koroluk, Thompson Beloin, Nathaniel Schooner and Daniel Schadt.
The XC running team was led by coach Alex Boileau, assistant coach Kerry Boileau, chaperone Natasha Provost and bus driver extraordinaire Leonard Kozak
