Bella Bella residents travel to visit Namu exhibit at Art House Gallery Bella Coola

A group of people from Bella Bella travelled to see an exhibit at the Art House Gallery in Bella Coola recently.

Namu: A photographic journey into the past, was the main show in the gallery from May 3 to 31.

Dora Hopkins. who is the program coordinater for Hailiak’as Heiltsuk Health Centre Connecting Community through Traditional Values Program contacted the gallery then organized the group’s travel to Bella Coola.

Gallery director and Bella Coola Valley Arts Council president Ida Eriksen said joining Hopkins were Connie Tallio, Brenda and Harvey Humchitt, Mel Innes, Dave and Judy Wilson, Garth and Anna Humchitt, George Wilson, Charlie Lawson, Barb Thompson and Captain Aaron Humchitt

“There were hereditary chiefs in the group,” Eriksen said.
