Firefighters respond to truck fire at Kersley

The tractor-trailer unit was transporting lumber, rig burning completely

A tractor-trailer unit burned on Highway 97, Sunday afternoon (Jan. 21) south of Quesnel.

The Kersley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident. There was no word as of press time about the cause of the blaze or the health of anyone involved.

The highway was blocked for hours, and eventually single-lane alternating traffic allowing a slow flow into the evening. The fire was reported at about 1:30 p.m.
